The company needed an internal and client-facing site to centralise files and tasks tied to their financial years, somewhere users could upload, download and track progress.
Challenge
This was my first project there, and I inherited a UI that was confusing and barely used. The challenge was untangling the user journey and making the whole thing genuinely easy to use.

My part
Working closely with a colleague, I reworked existing pages and built new flows, an unassigned files page, an admin page, and a folder/subfolder structure for organising documents. Over several months, we kept refining each piece as requirements evolved.

This page lets users upload files without having to sort them into folders right away — useful for bulk uploads, where organising everything up front just slows people down. Each file shows its upload date and gives users options to comment, move it to a folder, download or archive it, so sorting can happen whenever it makes sense rather than at the point of upload.

This page gives admins control over user permissions, setting people as viewers, contributors or owners, inviting new users, or removing them when needed. The main design challenge was making it clear at a glance which folders each user could access, and letting admins adjust those permissions without any confusion.
